Poco a poco… quiero rendir tributo a los que en mi opinión son los mejores Compositores de Bandas Sonoras desde que comenzó la historia del cine…Hoy le ha tocado a un grandísimo compositor de nuestros días… ¡¡JAMES HORNER!!…su discografía es inmensa..y incluirla toda es del todo imposible como me viene sucediendo en diversas ocasiones…Nacido en California en 1953…Su obra fué adquiriendo popularidad convirtiéndose en uno de lo más importantes creadores a comienzos de los 80′s ….ha sido nominado en multitud de ocasiones para el “Oscar” haciendo doblete para la Banda Sonora de “Titanic”…como podréis comprobar en el vídeo donde rindo homenaje a este inspiradísimo autor….

Little by little … I pay tribute to those who in my opinion are the best music composers since the beginning of film history … Today it has fallen to a great composer of our time !!… JAMES HORNER his discography is immense .. and include it all is quite impossible as has been happening to me several times …Born in California in 1953 … His work was gaining popularity, becoming one of the most important creators in the early 80′s …. has been nominated many times for the “Oscar” by two for the soundtrack of “Titanic “… as you can see in the video where pay homage to the spirited author ….

James Newton Howard (9 de junio de 1951 en Los Ángeles) es uno de lo grandes compositores de nuestra época ,ha sido varias veces nominado para El Oscar…En sus comienzos estuvo al lado de “Elton John”…y es curioso como muchisimos músicos y compositores de Bandas Sonoras han comenzado su carrera musical bebiendo en las raices del Rock……Por no hablar de la influencia de la Música Clásica… Hacía el año 2005 compone junto con Hans Zimmer ..la Banda sonora de “Batman Begins” …. Repitiendo de nuevo con Zimmer la composición musical en “The Dark Knight”….
Sus composiciones son una autentica maravilla de inspiración…. de sensibilidad… y de novedad en los sonidos …en muchos casos incorpora grandes secciones de percusión … dando un sonido que bien se podría denominar …. “Sonido James Newton Howard”….. ¡¡ Otro de los Grandes !! …que hoy incorporo a mis más admirados compositores….

Rachel Mary Berkeley Portman…Ha sido la primera mujer en ganar un Premio Óscar en la categoría “Mejor banda sonora” (por Emma en 1996)…..Es una de la mejores compositoras de nuestro tiempo… si tenemos en cuenta el numero tan limitado que existen de compositoras…Algo que por un lado me llena de tristeza… al existir tan poca representatividad en el mundo de la composición de la figura femenina…Y por otro lado me siento profundamente orgullosa de poder escuchar y vibrar con estas grandes creaciones de Rachel Portman…¡¡¡ Mi más profunda admiración por la gran inspiración de esta mujer !!!

Rachel Mary Berkeley Portman … It was the first woman to win an Academy Award in the category “Best Soundtrack” (For Emma in 1996 )….. Is one of the best composers of our time … if we consider the very limited number of composers there … Something that on the one hand I am filled with sadness … since there is so little representation in the world of composition of the female figure … And on the other hand I am very proud to listen and vibrate with these great creations of Rachel Portman … My deepest admiration for the great inspiration from this woman!!!

STANLEY KUBRICK

Stanley Kubrick nace en Nueva York, Estados Unidos, 26 de julio de 1928 y muere en el Reino Unido, 7 de marzo de 1999 …es uno de los directores más importantes en la historia del cine …Algunas de sus películas causaron un autentico impacto…como “2001 Odisea en el Espacio”..Pero aparte de ser un gran creador en todos sus films.. Desearia destacar su melomanía en todas las Bandas Sonoras…En algunas ocasiones colaboró con Alex North  ..es el caso de “Spartaco” y aunque su Banda Sonora es excelente y el “Love Theme de Spartaco” de North es muy bello….Yo hubiera añadido el “Adagio de Spartacus” de Aram Khachaturiam….Pero esto siempre es una opinión personal….Del resto de sus films… Decir que si a su extraordinaria técnica , realización y guión ..le añadimos en las  Bandas Sonoras …Música Clásica…Sus películas se convierten en Obras Maestras… ¿¿ Quien no recuerda a Strauss….En 2001 Odisea en el Espacio… O a Beethoven en La Naranja Mecanica….O la excelente Música Barroca en Barry Lyndon ??… En este video-clip.. he añadido la Overtura de 2001… y uno de los valses de Dimitri Shostakóvich perteneciente a su polémica y última película…”Eyes Wide Shut”….

Stanley Kubrick was born in New York, USA, July 26, 1928 and died in the United Kingdom, March 7, 1999 … is one of the most important directors in film history … Some of his films caused a real impact … like “2001 a Space Odyssey” .. But besides being a great creator in all his films .. Would like to emphasize in all its melomania Soundtracks … Sometimes collaborated with Alex North is the case of “Spartacus” and although the soundtrack is excellent and the “Love Theme from Spartacus” North is beautiful .. .. Dmitri Dmítrievich Shostakóvich..Uno de los más grandes compositores Rusos de nuestro ya pasado siglo XX…. Su vida estuvo caracterizada por las influencias políticas que tuvo a lo largo del tiempo que le toco vivir… Su música esta llena de maravillosos contrastes.. Yo he deseado compartir aqui uno de sus Valses perteneciente a ” The Jazz Album “……Sus composiciones las hemos podido escuchar en imnumerables “Films” …. como el ejemplo que he puesto un poquito más arriba….¡¡Os dejo con esta maravilla de Vals!!…

Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich .. One of the greatest Russian composers of our past and the twentieth century …. His life was characterized by political influences that took over while he lived … His music is full of wonderful contrasts .. I wanted to share here one of his waltzes belonging to “The Jazz Album “……. His compositions have been heard in the imnumerables “Films” …. as the example I set a little higher ….I leave this wonderful Waltz! ..

ELMER BERNSTEIN – 1922- 2004…Uno de los mejores compositores de Bandas Sonoras… comenzó su carrera de la mano de Aaron Copland.. y después de un paréntesis retomo su carrera musical  al lado de Jerome Moross, Alex Norteé, y Copland…..
Le descubrí en Los Diez Mandamientos….siendo muy niña….. su música me impresionó sobremanera….y durante largo tiempo tuve metida esa extraordinaria Overtura en mi cabeza…La grandiosidad de Bernstein no tiene limites… toda su primera etapa esta llena de extraordinarias composiciones..quizás por esa razón he añadido tres de sus más famosos temas….¡¡¡Tres Overturas !!!…. que siguen impresionando a lo largo del tiempo….como si siempre fuera la primera vez que penetran en mis oídos….El pasado mes de Agosto se cumplió 7 años de su desaparición….. y el vacío que ha dejado es imposible de llenar…..¡¡ Mi tributo a este genio de la composición !!

ELMER BERNSTEIN – 1922 – 2004 … One of the best music composers … began his career at the hands of Aaron Copland .. after a hiatus and resumed his music career with Jerome Moross, Alex Norteé, and Copland …..

Max Steiner (Viena, 10 de mayo de 1888 – Viena, 28 de diciembre de 1971) fue un compositor Austriaco de música de cine, considerado junto con Victor Young y Alfred Newman , como el padre del sinfonismo clásico Estadounidense….Se estableció en Hollywood hacia 1929, cuando empezó el cine sonoro …. Es uno de los grandes compositores de bandas sonoras, con obras maestras de la talla de “Lo que el viento se llevó”, precursora de la inclusión del leitmotiv o tema musical dedicado a un personaje o situación concretos, King Kong, o la música adicional para Casablanca, entre otros. Estuvo nominado al Óscar en 20 ocasiones, obteniéndolo en 3 ocasiones por El delator (1935), La extraña pasajera (1942) y Desde que te fuiste (1944)…..Aqui he deseado compartir la Overtura de “Jezabel” y uno de esos temas entrañables .. menos conocidos de su carrera  “Lucy’s Theme”….en una versión diferente a la que añadi cuando hice mi segundo video en  “You Tube”..tambien perteneciente a la misma Banda Sonora…..

Entre  los compositores a los que amo y admiro profundamente su obra….esta Victor Young……Es muy dificíl para mi tomar una decisión entre todas sus composiciones…..¡¡Todas son realmente poderosas en cuanto su contenido musical!!…”Shane”…. fue un film de esos realmente entrañables… no es un clásico Western …..Aunque las imágenes que he añadido si lo sean….Su música es tan prodigiosa que he unido tres temas de la pélicula… para poder tener mejor visión musical de la misma….
Esta vez vuelvo de la mano de mi siempre admirado “Philcold”….la grandeza de sus imágenes nos traslada a aquel profundo Oeste… que en tantas ocasiones pudieron ver nuestros ojos en las pantallas… ¡¡ Gracias Philcold !!

Si tuviera que elegir entre los diez “Films” que más me han impactado en mi vida…. sin lugar a dudas “Metrópolis” está entre ellos…Esta es una de las Grandes Obras Maestras del cine..dirigida por Fritz Lang en el año 1927….¡¡causo conmoción!!……¡¡ Y no era para menos!! …..Es de una grandeza tan extraordinaria…..Que sobra en estos momentos todo tipo de comentarios…
La Banda Sonora compuesta por Gottfried Huppertz…. alcanza límites insospechados de creatividad y de riqueza musical..todos ellos llenos de una originalidad inpensable en aquellos momentos…Por esa razón he fundido tres temas de la película :  “Death Descends”…”Josaphat Report” y ” End Titles (Restoration)”…..

En este video tenemos la union de dos grandes creadores por un lado la inspiración  de Ennio  y por otro lado la de un Español llamado Philcod que con sus extraordinarias imágenes va a acompañar mis videos en muchas ocasiones….Cuando hablo de Morricone con diferentes personas… siempre me dicen…¡¡ Ahhhhhhhhh… Morricone el de los western !! y la mayoria de la gente se queda en eso…..( muy triste para mi…porque Ennio es de una grandiosidad que toca el infinito )……Este video es un recuerdo aquella época que hizo popular a Ennio…….. ¡¡ Mis gracias más profundas a Philcod… un verdadero artista de la imagen !!

¡¡ Cuando subí el video de Morricone  a ” You Tube ” sucedió algo y  la mitad se quedo más negro que uno de esos agujeros espaciales !!…por aquello de que soy  muy nueva en esto…. y no se como borrarlo del canal y rehacerlo de nuevo…Añado a mi canal un nuevo montaje del video  … con diferente música esta vez de la mano de Elmer  Bernstein y aquella maravilla de composición  que hiciera en el año 1969 para el film  “True Grit “…..Como siempre mis gracias más profundas a las excelentes imágenes de “Philcold” sin ellas no hubiera sido posible compartir con vosotros este montaje….
