RYUICHI SAKAMOTO • THE REVENANT
Ryuichi Sakamoto ( nació el 17 de enero de 1952 ) es un músico japonés, activista, compositor, productor, escritor, cantante, pianista y actor. Actualmente vive en Tokio y Nueva York. Comenzó su carrera en 1978 como miembro de la banda pionera en la música electrónica Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO), donde tocó los teclados y ocasionalmente fue vocalista. La banda fue un éxito internacional, con éxitos como Computer Game / Firecracker (1978) y Behind the Mask (1978), escrita y cantada por Sakamoto..
Comenzó a actuar y a componer música para cine con Feliz Navidad, Mr. Lawrence (1983), en la que interpretó uno de los personajes principales y realizó el score de la misma. La canción Forbidden Colours que compuso para el filme se convirtió en éxito a nivel mundial y ganó un premio BAFTA por el score del filme. Después ganó un Óscar y un Grammy por el score de El último emperador (1987), y también ganó dos Globos de Oro por su trabajo de música para cine… Adicionalmente compuso la música para la apertura de los Juegos Olímpicos de Barcelona 1992.
A principios de los años noventa, tuvo una breve reunión con YMO, tocando un rol instrumental de los movimientos techno y acid house de la época, antes de que se volvieran a separar. La composición musical Energy Flow (1999), conocida de manera alternativa como Ura BTTB en su single.
Ocasionalmente ha trabajado en animes y música de video juegos, como compositor y guionista. A finales de los 2000, se reunió nuevamente con YMO, mientras componía música para cine. En 2009, le fue otorgado la Orden de las Artes y las Letras por el Ministro de Cultura de Francia por sus contribuciones musicales.
Este año acaba de ser nominado para el Oscar en la categoria de la Mejor Banda Sonora por The Revenant (El Renacido)..

Ryuichi Sakamoto (born January 17, 1952) is a Japanese musician, activist, songwriter, producer, writer, singer, pianist and actor. He currently lives in Tokyo and New York. He began his career in 1978 as a member of the pioneering electronic music Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO), where he played keyboards and was occasionally band singer. He began performing and composing music for films with Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence (1983), in which he played one of the main characters and performed the score of the same. Forbidden Colours song he composed for the film became a worldwide success and won a BAFTA award for the film score. After winning an Oscar and a Grammy for the score of The Last Emperor (1987), and also he won two Golden Globes for his work in film music … In addition he composed the music for the opening of the 1992 Summer Olympics.

David Robert Jones (Brixton, Londres; 8 de enero de 1947 – 10 de enero de 2016 ) más conocido por su nombre artístico David Bowie, fue un músico y compositor, quien ejerció a su vez de actor, productor discográfico y arreglista. Figura importante de la música popular durante más de cinco décadas, Bowie es considerado un innovador, en particular por sus trabajos de la década de 1970 y por su peculiar voz, además de la profundidad intelectual de su obra.
Hace poco tiempo comentaba Luis M. Álvarez lo siguiente : «La desbordante creatividad de un artista como David Bowie es demasiado extensa como para ceñirse única y exclusivamente al ámbito musical. Además de haber participado él mismo como actor en varias películas, cineastas de muy diversa índole han incorporado la música del cantante inglés en su propio cine, permitiendo que su carisma y sensibilidad impregnaran, en algunos casos, no sólo a las bandas sonoras, sino a toda la película.»
